MA Public Communication

The consecutive master program "public communication" is research oriented and interdisciplinary. Aim of the master program is to deepen and enhance the basic knowledge acquired from the BA programme in four central fields of the subject:

  • social communication and the public,
  • economy of public communication,
  • political communication and the public, and
  • psychology of public communication
In addition to this, there is a focus on methods and statistics of public communication.  Beside scientific offers of the Institute of Communication Research, studies are extended by choosing modules from another social science, language studies, philosophy and/or theology. The regular period of study averages 2 years.


Admission requirement is an occupational qualifying bachelor degree of a German or international university, with knowledge of statistics and social scientific and/or economical scientific and/or psychological methods with an amount of 20 ECTS credits.
